<p> We began with 6 free tickets for Sherman Alexie’s reading for his new new book War Dances in Seattle on October 6th.</p>
<p> Our new Guest Artist Display featuring Jeff Monson for the months of September and October brought in a lot of visitors, as did Jeff’s Guest Artist Reception on Thursday, October 8th. Jeff also presented at Studium Generale and was well received!</p>
<p> We were proud to have Longhouse representation in Olympia, WA. at the Evergreen State College Longhouse Grand Re-Opening Celebration on October 17th.</p>
<p> The next Indian Voices Poetry Night was Tuesday, October 20. It was a part of the WomenSpirit Coalition’s Awareness Month’s Events. WSC opened up the evening and handed the mic over to survivors, and those who write about violence. There were 6 readers in all, and our attendance has more than doubled.</p>
<p> Our last Indian Writers Workshop on December 2nd brought in new participants, with our next Writers Workshop being scheduled for Wednesday, January 6 at 3pm.</p>
<p> October 26th & 27th the Supreme Court Justices visited our campus for two days of hearings, with an evening of dinner and dancing in the Longhouse.</p>
<p> The Community Drum Circle only continues to increase in numbers and success! The next Drum Circle will be on December 23rd from 6-8pm. It’s free and Open to the Public!</p>
<p> This year promises to stay busy, as we continue to add programs. Stay tuned for news of an Artist Apprentice program with the Apprentice show to be displayed this upcoming summer</p>
<p> Our Guest Indian Artist scheduled for January and  February is Port Gamble S’Klallam Artist Jeff Veregge, who has a painting in the newest “Twilight” movie! He describes his art as “Picasso Salish Style.” Call it what you want, it’s impressive!</p>
